HIVSA Turns 10

For 10 years, HIVSA has actively engaged communities and their support organisations to ensure that we, as an organisation, contribute to reducing the impact of HIV and AIDS in our country.

Formed in 2002 during what can only be described as the “denialist period”, HIVSA has evolved into a dynamic group of committed people, never wavering, always ready to reach out and assist in any situation.

We have experienced the tragedy of HIV and AIDS from within the confines of our corridors, always looking forward, always trying to find new ways of lightening the load. It is comforting to know, and in this instance names and numbers are meaningless, that in the darkest of hours we have made a difference, and have delivered on our promises.

It is only through the unwavering commitment of the HIVSA team and our passionate donors that we can today feel a sense of achievement and fulfilment.

Although the race has not yet been won, we can see the benefits of the past 10 years and are encouraged to look forward, believing in ourselves and in what we can achieve... in the difference we can make!

HIVSA would like to pay tribute to our communities for their resilience, to our Government for its insight, to our donors for their commitment and to the world for believing in us as a country.
