Future Footprints

This programme provides adolescents with a continuum of care not only related to HIV/AIDS but also in relation to their sexual health. Future Footprints seeks to decrease the impact of HIV/AIDS on adolescents by increasing the uptake of “integrated sexual and reproductive health services” including HIV treatment.

Conducted at schools, adolescents participate in a youth friendly “peer education programme” (8 modules). On completion and supported by peer counselors and peer mentors participants access a VCT component provided by a partnering organization. Risk reduction counseling is provided for negatives and positives are referred to a HIV medical site for appropriate follow up and support.
