WHO IS HIVSA?

HIVSA is a not-for-profit company established in 2002 and is a strategic partner of the Provincial Departments of Health and Social Development. We innovatively transform and empower individuals, community workers and organisations by developing their capacities to effectively respond to the socio-economic and health challenges that burden communities.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The role will support HIVSA’s HR Manager in the pursuit of the broader HR Agenda at strategic, tactical, and operational levels. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the full employee life cycle and will be involved in all areas of the Human Resources Function. Occasionally the position is expected to deputise for the HR Manager in various forums were invited and or warranted.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources.
  • Labor Relations certification – may be advantageous.

Experience:

  • Knowledge of employment legislation.
  • Experience with USAID or other international donor – will be advantageous.

Knowledge ,Skills and Attributes:

  • Full understanding of HR functions and best practices
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Established written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adequate numerical skills and abilities
  • Proficient with time keeping and management of priorities.
  • The ability to function effectively under pressure and a client – service orientation.
  • Above average conflict management skills
  • Assertive whilst remaining respectful when dealing across operations levels of the organisation.
  • Able to work with limited supervision expediting value-adding initiatives
  • Ability to keep confidentiality always.

Key Performance Areas:

  • HR Strategy, HR Policy, Procedure and Resources
  • Recruitment and Selection.

Skills Development/Employee Training:

  • HR Support, Generalist Functions & Administration
  • Statutory Reporting and Compliance
  • Provide support and assistance with the Disciplinary and Grievance Procedure
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Driving for ad-hoc HIVSA admin duties.
