HIVSA is a leading non-profit organisation committed to improving the lives of South Africans through innovative healthcare solutions and community support. We focus on HIV prevention, sexual and reproductive health, and the empowerment of vulnerable groups.


We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Public Relations, Communications, and Marketing Intern to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a non-profit environment, working on various digital campaigns and initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and engagement with our Choma Magazine users both online and offline.

The primary purpose of this internship is to provide support in various activities that enhance the company’s visibility and reputation. The intern will help with creating, managing, and distributing content that aligns with the company's brand and communication goals. This role is designed to offer practical experience in the fields of PR, communications, and marketing, allowing the intern to develop skills and gain insights into industry practices.

This is a part-time position which requires attendance 2 days a week for 10 months.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have matric/Grade 12
    • An advantage will be given to those currently pursuing or recently completed a higher certificate in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.
  • Basic knowledge of marketing principles and digital marketing tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for social causes and community development.
  • Not currently employedDuration: 10 MonthsKey Performance Areas:
  • Public Relations:
    • Assist in developing and executing digital marketing campaigns online.
    • Draft surveys and quizzes, newsletters, and other communication materials.
    • Monitor and report on digital performance of online campaigns.
  • Communications:
    • Support the creation of content for social media, website, and internal communications.
    • Help manage HIVSA's Choma magazine social media accounts, including content scheduling and engagement.
    • Organise department drives and files
    • Conduct research to support communication strategies.
  • Marketing:
    • Participate and contribute to community activations and other campaigns.
    • Contribute to the development of marketing materials and campaigns.
    • Assist with email marketing efforts, including creating and sending newsletters.
    • Support the analysis of marketing campaign performance and provide insights.
    • Help maintain and update the Choma website and other digital and social media platforms.Benefits:
